Non-Surgical Knee Treatment

Matrix Therapy (Electroanalgesia)

Matrix therapy for an aching knee

How Matrix Therapy Works

Matrix therapy is a form of electroanalgesia. The clinician places electrodes on the skin to deliver electrical stimulation around the knee. It is a different approach from using traction to apply a stretch.

You may notice tingling as the intensity changes. Tell the clinician how it feels, including any spot where sensation is reduced. Mention implanted electronic devices or medical restrictions before treatment.

At the Bakersfield office, you can ask Dr. Collins whether the approach is appropriate for the discomfort you notice at rest or in motion. Pick one activity that the pain interrupts so you can talk about what meaningful progress would look like.
